Die südkoreanische Bassistin Jeong Lim Yang ist seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt eine prägende Stimme in der kosmopolitischen Jazzszene New Yorks. Mit dem Kontrabass im Fokus verschiebt sie die Grenzen des klassischen Ensemble-Formats und lässt das Instrument sowohl als rhythmisches Fundament als auch als melodische Treibkraft wirken. The South Korean bassist Jeong Lim Yang has been a distinctive voice on New York’s cosmopolitan jazz scene for more than a decade. With the double bass at the forefront, she pushes the boundaries of the ensemble format, allowing the instrument to function as both a rhythmic foundation and a melodic driving force. When she visits ALICE this May, she will be joined by the legends of improvising heroes. 

The quartet is currently presenting the album Synchronicity (2025), where traditional jazz idioms meet daring improvisations and open sonic landscapes. Look forward to an intense and intimate concert experience when Jeong Lim Yang takes the stage on two nights in Berlin.
